Over five unforgettable days in Glasgow, Australia's artistic gymnasts delivered one of the nation's strongest Commonwealth Games campaigns in recent history.

Historic team medals, breakthrough performances and emotional comebacks saw the green and gold finish the Games with nine artistic gymnastics medals, while several athletes etched their names into the history books.

Australia travelled to Glasgow with a squad that combined experienced Olympians with exciting Commonwealth Games debutants.

Australia's Men End a 16-Year Medal Drought

The Championships began with history as Australia's men's artistic gymnastics team claimed bronze, ending a 16-year wait for a Commonwealth Games team medal.

Finishing behind Canada and England with 235.650 points, the result marked Australia's first men's team medal since Delhi 2010.

The performance also secured a host of individual final qualifications.

James Hardy progressed to the Floor Exercise, Still Rings and Vault finals, Jesse Moore qualified for the All-Around, Pommel Horse, Still Rings and Parallel Bars finals, while Ritam Milaj advanced to the All-Around, Pommel Horse and High Bar finals.

One of the most dramatic moments of the competition came during the final rotation when England's Gabriel Langton suffered a serious fall on High Bar. Following a lengthy medical delay, Australia returned to competition with remarkable composure to secure the bronze medal.

Australia's Women Reclaim Commonwealth Gold

Momentum continued into the women's competition, where Australia produced a superb performance to reclaim the Commonwealth Games team title for the first time since 2010.

The Australians finished on 158.400, defeating Canada (157.300) and England (154.300) to capture gold.

The victory was particularly emotional for Georgia Godwin, who returned to international competition after rupturing her Achilles in 2024 and missing the Paris Olympic Games. The team gold became Godwin's ninth Commonwealth Games medal, making her Australia's most decorated female artistic gymnast in Commonwealth Games history.

Australia's women also qualified strongly for the apparatus finals, with Kate McDonald advancing to Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise, Breanna Scott qualifying for the All-Around and Beam finals, Ruby Pass reaching the Uneven Bars final and Georgia Godwin progressing to both Vault and Floor Exercise.

Breanna Scott and Jesse Moore Lead Australia's All-Around Success

With the team competition complete, Australia's leading all-around gymnasts stepped up once again.

Jesse Moore produced six consistent routines to score 79.000, earning bronze and becoming Australia's first Commonwealth Games men's all-around medallist since 2010.

Making his Commonwealth Games debut, Ritam Milaj impressed with sixth place, demonstrating the exciting future of Australian men's gymnastics.

In the women's competition, Breanna Scott delivered one of the performances of the Championships.

The 21-year-old produced outstanding routines across Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise to score 52.900, finishing just 0.150 behind Canada's Ellie Black to claim the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Georgia Godwin's return to major international competition after injury was one of the most inspiring stories of the Games. Although she narrowly missed the all-around podium, her performances demonstrated the resilience that has made her one of Australia's greatest gymnasts.

Australia Finishes with a Golden Flourish

Australia's success continued throughout the apparatus finals.

Kate McDonald became Commonwealth Games Champion on Uneven Bars, producing one of the finest routines of her career to claim individual gold.

Breanna Scott backed up her all-around silver by becoming Commonwealth Games Champion on Balance Beam, completing a remarkable week that saw her leave Glasgow with team gold, all-around silver and beam gold.

Jesse Moore also finished the Championships in spectacular fashion, winning gold on Parallel Bars after already helping Australia secure team bronze and earning all-around bronze. His three-medal campaign was one of the most successful ever by an Australian male artistic gymnast at a Commonwealth Games.

James Hardy enjoyed an unforgettable Commonwealth Games debut, collecting bronze medals on both Floor Exercise and Still Rings. Combined with the men's team bronze, Hardy returned home with three Commonwealth Games medals from his first appearance.
