The Dodd family began its journey into the world of gymnastics in 2006 when they established The Beam Shop, an Australian based manufacturer initially specialising in low profile balance beams. The brief was simple - to provide high quality, home use gymnastics equipment at value for money prices.

In 2012, The Beam Shop expanded into boys gymnastic gear, in the process creating Gymnastics Direct. From there, the Gymnastics Direct range has expanded significantly, now including a wide range of training aids, gymnastic mats, flexi roll matting, balance beams, horizontal training bars and pommel bucks, mushrooms and rings for boys.
