Ambassador: Hughie
We’re excited to welcome Hughie to the Gymnastics Direct ambassador family. Hughie proudly trains in Sydney and is a dedicated gymnast with a big love for the sport and even bigger goals for the future.
Q. What do you love most about your sport?
I love the adrenaline I get from flying through the air!
Q. Where and how often do you train?
I train at Bunnerong Gymnastics - 10 hours per week.
Q. What are your main goals?
I’d love to make the Olympics and be able to do Kovacs by the age of 16!
Q. What new skills are you trying to learn?
I’m trying to learn scissors on Pommel, double front flips on floor and skills involved with level 7 routines.
Q. What is your happiest memory in gymnastics and what made it so special?
My happiest memory is when i came 2nd in the state last year in clubs. It was special because it was my very first competition!
Q. Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Igor Cassina is very inspirational because he’s had great success in gymnastics but he’s as tall as I’m likely going to be, so this gives me hope!!!
Kohei Uchimura is also stuck all over my inspiration board at home.
My other biggest inspiration is my Grandpa!
Q. What are your favourite things in life?
My family, GYMNASTICS, and chocolate!!
