We are so excited to announce Koa as one of seven new ambassadors for Gymnastics Direct. Koa is a 10 year old artistic gymnast who was possibly born a monkey in a past life. He loves being upside down and swinging on anything he can get his hands on!
Q. What do you love most about your sport?
I like that I get to do cool tricks and I get to see my friends at training all the time.
Q. Where and how often do you train?
I train at Hunter sports centre as part of the Hunter Training Program (HTP) I train 4x a week, 13.5 hours a week.
Q. What are your main goals?
Short-term goals:
- Get really good at pommel!
 - Get a score of 10! I got 9.9 recently on high bar and Pbars!
 Long-term goals:
- To one day compete at the Olympics with my mate Freddy.
 
Q. What new skills are you trying to learn?
To get a standing backflip (I'm so close!).
Q. What is your happiest memory in gymnastics and what about it made it so special?
Getting my first gold banding was my happiest memory because I worked so hard to get it!
Q. Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
I recently went to cirque du Soleil and I was inspired by all the gymnast in the show!
Q. What are your favourite things in life?
I love gymnastics, climbing trees, surfing and eating!
