We warmly welcome Eden, one of the newest members of the Gymnastics Direct Ambassador family.
At just 9 years old, Eden’s love for gymnastics shines through everything she does. What began as a way to build confidence has become a place where she feels most like her true self.
I love how confident Gymnastics makes me feel, especially when I unlock a new skill that I have been working so hard on. It makes me feel like I can fly, and accomplish anything anywhere else too!I am still a very shy person deep down, and I only get to feel like the most confident Eden in Gymnastics, and so Gymnastics to me is not just what I do, but it’s who I am.Gymnastics has changed my life and it makes me feel like my true self.
I train weekly at Kids Moves, and have been with KM for 5 years now.I also train weekly at Miami Gymnastics, where I have been for 2 years.
My main goal is to try and inspire other kids like me, who are shy, to never stop believing in themselves and the opportunities. If it’s through gymnastics or another area, just to always find your person who will help you, like Miss Justine from Kids Moves has helped me.Sometimes when you are so shy it can stop you from trying new things and making friends, and then you never know what you can be good at and what you can achieve. For me, it's gymnastics and I want to help other kids, who are shy, to just go for it and put themselves out there, and to just try and not be scared. It is ok to be shy because that’s you and you should never want to change who you are, or let anyone else try and change you, but being shy doesn't have to stop you from achieving big things.I am so happy that I met Miss Justine when I was 4 years old because she has helped me to become the best 9 year old me.I was brave, and joined her class, and that’s all you really need to do. Find your person, and something that you love, and fly!
I am trying to learn my back handspring.I already have it on the barrel, and I am now progressing to a teachers spot, and then I hope soon that I can be able to do it on my own. Right now, I am working on my backwards jump to land the skill. I already have my front handspring, and so once I have my back handspring, I would like to then add it onto my round off. After that, I would like to achieve a layout.
My happiest memory is when I got my Ariel for the very first time.I had it in the studio already, with a spot, just a week before our end of year showcase.During the showcase, Miss Justine left me until last to come on stage, and pumped up the entire audience to cheer for me as an encouragement to see if I could get it on the air track, on my own.The cheering, from hundreds of people in the audience, made me feel like a superstar and it is a felling I will never forget.Whenever I feel sad that I cannot get a skill straight away, I always think back to that moment and remember that if I just keep trying that anything in this world is possible.
My biggest inspiration is Simone Biles because her accomplishments amaze me, I really just want to be just like her.One day I would also like to make it to the Olympics and win a Gold medal for my country.I think my younger self would be really really proud!
