We’re excited to welcome Younique Dance Academy as this month’s Club Focus feature! Based on the Gold Coast, QLD, the academy is home to over 300 dancers. More than just a place to dance, it’s a second home where students grow in confidence and build lifelong skills like discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
1. How did your club begin?
Younique Dance Academy was born out of a passion for dance and a desire to create a supportive community where dancers of all ages and abilities can thrive. Our founder, Brianna, started the studio to provide a nurturing space that not only focuses on improving technical dance skills but also fosters personal growth and confidence among its students.
2. How many kids do you train and what skill levels?
We train over 300 students ranging from beginners to advanced competitors. Our programs cater to various age groups and skill levels, from our littlest dancers in the Ready Set Dance preschool program to our recreational school aged program, elite performance team program & graduated students currently studying their Cert IV in Dance Teaching & Management with us.
3. Do you have any programs for children with special needs?
Yes, we are committed to inclusivity and our classes & instructors at the studio are adaptive and trained to include students with disabilities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to express themselves through dance.
4. What is your organisation's mission statement?
Our mission at Younique is to create a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can explore their love for dance. We believe in nurturing creativity, self-expression, and a strong sense of community through high-quality dance education.

6. What are you most proud of in your club?
We are incredibly proud of the supportive community we've built and the growth of our dancers. We foster so many positive connections & relationships between students, parents & teachers on a weekly basis which continues to inspire us to do our best in providing for our dancers & showing up for them as people with their well being and education at the forefront of our priorities.

Strengthen and expand our studio programs, invest in professional development for our staff and students, maintain and upgrade our equipment to ensure we are offering our dancers with the best support for their in class training.Â

8. Why do you think your club is important to families and your community?
Our studio is more than just a place to dance; it's a second home where students learn valuable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience. We help shape well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to their communities. Families value the safe and positive environment we provide for their children to express themselves and grow all while being uplifted and supported.
9. What piece of advice would you give to a gymnast/student?
"Always focus on the joy and passion that brought you to dance in the first place. Embrace every learning opportunity, whether it's a success or a challenge. Remember, growth occurs outside your comfort zone, and persistence is key to mastering your art."
